First String Meeting: A String Theoretic Approach to Cosmology and Quantum Matter

 

 

The `First String Meeting: A String Theoretic Approach to Cosmology and Quantum Matter' will take place on Friday November 5 and Saturday November 6 2010 in the conference centre `Het Kasteel' in Groningen. The meeting takes place as part of the national FOM program A string theoretic approach to cosmology and quantum matter. The first day of the meeting will be devoted to string cosmology while the second day will be focussed on (applications of) AdS/CFT. Each day there will be three half hour talks by members of the participating institutes and one 1 and 1/2 hour review talk by a guest speaker. The guest speakers are Daniel Baumann (string cosmology) and Chris Herzog (AdS/CFT). Each day will end with an open discussion, supervised by a moderator, about the urgent issues in the field.
