Title:
Consistent truncations from geometric structures and holography
Abstract:

Consistent truncations have proved to be powerful tools for constructing string theory solutions. Recently, they have found new applications to the holographic description of condensed matter systems. After an introduction to the topic, in the talk I will present a rich class of supersymmetric consistent truncations of higher-dimensional supergravity, which are derived by exploiting certain universal geometric structures. Finally, I will discuss some of their uses in the context of gauge-gravity duality.
