Title:
Issues with anti-brane uplifting
Abstract:

In the recent years there has been much progress on computing the backreaction of 'uplifting' anti-branes in flux backgrounds. Such brane constructions have been the basis for the conjecture of the string theory landscape. However, the recent computational progress sheds some doubs on the consistency of this picture. In this talk I will describe this progress without all the technical complications. Then I describe some heuristic arguments that indicate that the uplifting anti-branes cannot describe de Sitter vacua, but decaying dark energy at best. This talk is supposed to be pedagogical and with a focus on the big picture and the conceptual issues involved.
