Elementary Particles in Curved Spacetime

Elementary particles can be identi ed with the unitary irreducible representations (UIR's) of the isometry group of a given spacetime. These UIR's are labeled by the eigenvalues of the Casimir operators of the isometry group and hence they represent invariant physical properties of the elementary particles. These properties therefore depend entirely on the spacetime background of the particle. To compare these labels for di fferent spacetime backgrounds, one can use the method of contraction.
